Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose my restoration contractor?
Yes, under Oregon law, you have the right to choose the contractor to perform insurance claim work. This is an important fact because some insurance companies have "preferred contractors" that rely on their referrals at pre-determined pricing. This relationship between insurance companies and restoration contractors can result in a conflict of interest. Mountain Air Indoors, Inc. works solely for the homeowner. We can directly bill insurance companies as a convenience to you.
What about mold?
In a properly conducted restoration project, mold and microbial growth should not become a factor. If the drying process is started within 24-48 hours after water intrusion and active drying is taking place, mold is unlikely to grow. Our restoration warranty covers workmanship for the period of one year. If the water was left untreated for more than 48 hours the potential for microbial growth is greatly increased. In these cases, our certified mold professionals can effectively remediate the mold growth and ensure that the structure is fully dried. Our mold remediation process includes a lifetime warranty against future growth. To learn more about our mold remediation services please visit our mold remediation services website
How long will this take?
The Environmental Protection Association (EPA) states that the average water intrusion event takes 15 days to dry and involves a 250 square foot area. However, with our state of the art equipment and certified trend setting techniques we can cut drying times to an average of 3-5 days. (Drying times vary for each individual structure and the unique situations they present.) In a class 1 and some class 2 water losses that cover a portion of the home, occupants can often remain in the home while structural drying is accomplished. In more severe situations when water has flooded a majority of the house, or water loss is contaminated occupants may be displaced until the structure is deemed safe.
How much is this going to cost?
In most cases costs associated with water damage restorations is covered under homeowners insurance policies. Our pricing structure is based on work performed and rental rates for equipment used in the drying process. A work authorization form is needed prior to restoration services. This will detail work to be accomplished. A water damage restoration estimate will be provided to the client. This estimate will detail expected costs based on projected drying times.
Can you bill my insurance directly?
